Dorm Staff & After-Hours Contacts Emergency & Fire Safety Procedures
Eligibility for Living in the PJC Dorms: Students must enroll in at least 12 hours (maintain 9) in order to reside in campus housing (dorms).
Possession of illegal or unprescribed dtugs or alcohol are strictly prohibited in PJC's dorms, no matter if you are the legal age to consume these substances.
- Alcohol / intoxicating substances — First offense: $50.00 fine and disciplinary probation. Second offense: $100.00 fine.
- Drug / drug paraphernalia — First offense: $50.00 fine and possible removal from campus housing. Second offense: $100.00 fine and dismissal from school.
Guns / Campus Carry in residence halls (CHF)
- Under Texas Government Code §411.2031 and PJC policy, handgun license holders living in the halls may possess handguns only if (1) in full compliance with Texas law and these rules, and (2) the handgun is stored in a college-approved gun safe installed in the license holder’s room.
- Students assigned to a room where a firearm is stored who are concerned about their well-being may request a room transfer.

Prohibited weapons (CHF)
- In addition to weapons prohibited by law: fireworks of any kind, incendiary devices, pressurized-air projectile devices (e.g., BB guns), razors, chains, and martial-arts throwing stars.
- Other articles may be prohibited if the College President or designee determines they pose a danger; lockers and cars on campus may be inspected with reasonable cause to believe they contain weapons.
Other housing conduct items
- Soliciting: Salespeople or solicitors (including students) may not solicit, advertise, sell, or distribute materials in the halls; report solicitors to the Resident Supervisor.
- Gambling: Not permitted in the residence halls or on PJC property.
