33 PJC students named to Who’s Who

Thirty-three students at Paris Junior College have received notice of being chosen for Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. Faculty members nominate outstanding students each year to receive this recognition. Paris Junior College students receiving recognition and their hometowns include: Logan Anglin, Greg Bratcher, Quaylan Burns, Brandon Currin, Kenneth Glover, Luke Krogman, Juan Luna, Mark McKinnon, Harrison Murphey, Ryan Nance and Roger Yosten all of Paris. Area students include Katherine Elizondo of Honey Grove; Larry Hoffman of Cooper, Zachary Nance of Detroit; Heather Grimes of Pickton; Alberto Guitierrez of Como; Dustin Spindle of Dodd City; Michelle Blackshear and Toby Neal of Greenville; Andrew Pickles of Sulphur Springs; Adrienne Boswell of Rockwall, Hillary Baugh of Trenton; Morganne Fikes of Rowlett; Mallory Johnson of Decatur, Brian Wuest of Prosper; Randi White White of Euless; and Tess Williams of Odessa. Others are Chris Bonner of Idabel, Okla.; Kenneth Fulton Jr. of Broken Bow, Okla.; Taylor Ammons of Vicksburg, Miss.; Meoshi Bradley of Pine Bluff, Ark.; LaTay Darden of Norfolk, Va.; and Desmond King of Alexandria, La. Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges was started in 1934 by Pettus Randall who was then an undergraduate student at the University of Alabama, preparing to enter law school. He had been an outstanding student in all aspects of academic and campus activities and as a result had been tapped into various campus honor societies. Although Randall valued these honors bestowed by his alma mater, he was unable to accept them because membership fees cost more than he could afford so he created this honors program without dues or fees to recognize outstanding students for their academic accomplishments and scholastic contributions. In 1966 the first edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges was published. It continues to this day.
