Published or Revised May 06, 2013

More than 700 candidates have applied for graduation on Friday, May 10, at Paris Junior College. Commencement exercises begin at 7 p.m. at Noyes Stadium with the procession of the college regents, faculty members and candidates from the Mike Rheudasil Learning Center. If the weather prevents holding the ceremony outside at Noyes Stadium, two ceremonies will be held in the Hunt Physical Education Center. The decision to change the location will be made by noon on the day of the graduation and will be posted on the PJC website at www.parisjc.edu. The first ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will include Associate Degree graduates (Associate of Science, Associate of Applied Science, and Associate of Arts). Graduates and visitors will clear the gym and at 8:00 p.m. graduation will be held for the Certificate graduates. The Master Teacher for the 2012-2013 school year will be honored during commencement. Nominees for the Distinguished Service Award will also be recognized. They are Rose Lindsey of Paris, Lynsee Parish of Sulphur Springs, and Ashley Reed of Clarksville. This award is given for outstanding academic, campus and community accomplishments while attending PJC. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, a reception will be held for all graduates, their family and friends. The location will be announced during the program. Other special ceremonies prior to commencement include the adult education GED graduation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, in the Hunt Center. On Thursday, May 9, the Paris Junior College Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology awards ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. in the Ray Karrer Theater, followed by the medical records coding and surgical technology pinning ceremony at 1 p.m. in Room 1202 of the Walters Workforce Training Center.
