Members of the Paris Junior College African American Student Union are busy rehearsing a program to be presented next Wednesday. The event, "Black History is American History," begins at 12:15 p.m. in the Math and Science Building, room 101. The public is invited to enjoy the free program featuring singing, dancing, a reading and poetry. "The public can expect to learn something about African American heritage and be entertained by our students at Paris Junior College," said Student Life Director Kenneth Webb. The program's featured speaker will be former teacher Shay Bills, whose talk will address the event theme that black history is American history. An evangelist, motivational speaker and published author of "Is Your Ghost Holy" and "When Faith Fights," Bills also founded and is pastor of the Upper Room Christian Center and produces the "Today With Shay" television program through Local TV99 broadcasting.
