Advisor Educational Talent Search

To provide and assist low-income, first generation students the information and tools needed to complete secondary school and to enroll in an institution of higher education.

Bachelor Degree required prefer field in psychology, social work, guidance and counseling, or communication. Experience working in an educational setting is required. Tutoring experience preferred. Prior TRIO experience preferred. Must demonstrate strong motivational, organizational, and management skills. Must be able to relate to educationally disadvantaged students, public school teachers, counselors, and administrators in a positive manner. Ability to drive 10-passanger van. Knowledge of vocational and academic diagnostic tools is preferred.

This position covers health insurance at 100% for employee.  Additional optional coverages include dental, vision, AD&D, life insurance, and long- and short-term disability.  Other benefits include retirement under the Teacher Retirement System of Texas, accrued sick leave, vacation, paid holidays, and an employee reimbursement/dependent scholarship program.  Health benefits require a 60-day employment period.
