PJC Annual Fund Campaign Kick-Off Party April 15
Published or Revised April 11, 2013
After months of planning, the 2013 Paris Junior College Annual Fund Campaign begins Monday, April 15, with a Kick-Off Party from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the McLemore Student Center Ballroom. The public is invited to attend. Under the leadership of Co-Chairs Bobby Walters, a 1956 graduate, and Jo Ann Parkman, a 1951 graduate, the campaign's teams of leaders and volunteers have been preparing for this kick-off for some time. Team leaders and volunteers include: Lynn Patterson, Paula White, Tim Walsworth, Mark Hutchison, Kristi Martin, Kenny Daus, Kelly Pickle, Janet Partridge, Heather Cody and Kim Perry. Others include Jerimy Bell, Joe McCarthy, Jackie Blassingame, Sheri Ashford, LeAnn Barbee, Annetta Cooke and Linda Williams. "The PJC Annual Fund is the cornerstone of the entire development program at Paris Junior College," said PJC President Dr. Pam Anglin. "Support for the Annual Fund enables both immediate and long-term planning to address critical issues which face community colleges like us every day." This is the first time in the 89-year history of PJC that community-alumni, former students, businesses, industry, friends of the college and area foundations are being asked to help keep PJC moving forward. "The impact PJC has made in small and large businesses in our community is significant," Parkman said, "and whether through academic, workforce education, or continuing education, many have been touched by the efforts of faculty and staff of the college." Teams will make personal calls to a number of area businesses and industries seeking their support starting Monday. The appeal focuses on three areas of giving: unrestricted gifts, scholarships, and the master plan for construction and renovation. "Jo Ann and I are excited to be part of the first PJC Annual Fund because of what PJC means to each of us," Walters said. "We have many fond memories from our time as students. As someone who spent over 40 years at this great institution, my life has been blessed beyond measure through the association with the College then and now. With the help of our community and all former PJC graduates, former students, friends, businesses and industry that have benefitted from PJC, I know this initial campaign will be a success." Annual Fund mailers should begin to arrive in mailboxes the week of April 15 with additional campaign information.
