Published or Revised July 07, 2017
HB 4276 was approved by the Texas Legislature and signed by the Governor to redistrict the Paris Junior College Board of Regents, effective September 1, 2017. The Board will be redistricted to provide for representation throughout Lamar County as it joins the college taxing district. The redistricted board will have two seats from each of the four county precincts and one at-large member. The current board has two Regents representing each of the four precincts. The Board of Regents will review the applications and choose at least three individuals to be interviewed by the Regents prior to selecting a person to fill the At-Large position. After that, the Board will appoint their selection to serve in the at-large seat until the November 2018 general election. Individuals wishing to be considered for the at-large seat should complete an application signifying their interest. Application forms are available in the PJC President’s Office in the Louis B. Williams Administration Building or by calling 903-782-0330. Applications will be accepted through July 29, 2017.
