Banned Book contest winners announced.
Published or Revised October 14, 2009
Last week's Banned Book contest resulted in five winners from among 210 participants at Paris Junior College. To win, contestants had to guess the one book out of all those displayed that was not banned. The correct book was I, Robot by Isaac Asimov. "It was a great turnout this year with high participation," said PJC Technical Services Librarian Alexis Riggs, "and I cannot wait until next year." Winners were Kristy Barbour, Brittany Ervin and Michael Kennady at the main campus; Alberto Gutierrez at the PJC — Sulphur Springs Center; and Stephen Climer at the PJC — Greenville Center. Each winner received a Hastings gift card and a copy of the book This Stubborn Soil by William A. Owens.
