PJC Baseball Coach Deron Clark gets his 500th

Published or Revised February 23, 2014

Clark's 500 Paris Junior College Baseball Coach Deron Clark laughs while getting doused with ice water by his players as they celebrate his 500th career victory, just after they presented him with a banner. The final out of the seventh inning ushered in the significant milestone Monday, April 1, 2013, as the Dragons defeated Eastfield College, 17-2. Players, family and friends presented Clark with a cake, banner and ice water, to celebrate after the game. "Being able to achieve a milestone of 500 victories is a very special moment for me and my family," said Clark. "We have enjoyed the relationships developed over the past 19 seasons, and having so many special people come into our lives. Achieving this goal comes from having so many committed players becoming a part of our program and being very successful during their careers. Without these players and coaches that have sacrificed time and effort to Paris Junior College baseball, 500 victories would have never have been achieved. Thanks to all of those who have helped me and my family enjoy this special moment."
