Members of the Collins Masonic Lodge #356 of Tigertown recently presented four $500 scholarships to students at Paris Junior College to further their education.
Scholarship recipients Myranda Cope of Brookston, and Misty Stotts, Winanda Tillema, and Blake Edge of Paris are all 2015 graduates of Chisum High School.
"A big part of the Masonic Lodge is contributing to those in need," said Jayson Coward, Worshipful Master of the Collins Masonic Lodge. "Providing assistance to young students in their educational pursuits is very important to us and we take a lot of pride in being able to help these students jumpstart their educational journey. In the past we have conducted different fundraisers to raise money for our lodge efforts and scholarships, but in more recent times, the majority of the contributions for the scholarships come from donations from our lodge members. I hope that in the future we will be able continue this scholarship and provide assistance to these young professionals who will be our future community leaders."
