Representatives of the Collins Masonic Lodge 356 from Tigertown, Texas, awarded four $500 scholarships to Paris Junior College students recently. On hand to give the awards were Worshipful Master Jayson Coward, Past Worshipful Master Jodi Birdsong, and Lodge Secretary Larry Stahl, as well as PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin.
“Every year we donate money to a scholarship fund,” said Stahl. “We appoint a scholarship committee that goes to the school after March and selects the recipients from the 10 to 15 applicants. We like for students to attend Paris Junior College.”
Receiving scholarships are Kelsie Adams of Sulphur Springs, Jamie Landers of Lake Creek, Jacob Barnett of Sumner, and Alexis Mathews of Paris.
The Lodge plans to increase the amount donated for scholarships in the future.
