PJC Commencement set for Friday, May 11

More than 750 candidates have applied for graduation on Friday, May 11, at Paris Junior College. Commencement exercises begin at 7 p.m. at Noyes Stadium with the procession of the College Regents, faculty members and candidates from the Mike Rheudasil Learning Center. If the weather prevents holding the ceremony outside, it will be held in the Hunt Physical Education Center. The announcement of the change to an indoor ceremony would be made by noon on that Friday. The Master Teacher for the 2011-2012 school year will be honored during Commencement. The nominees for the Distinguished Service Award will be recognized. The nominees are Jacob Allen of Greenville, Stephanie Goudy of Burleson, Christina Gunlock of Bonham, and Morgan Kilgore of Webster. This award is given for outstanding academic, campus and community accomplishments while attending PJC. At the conclusion of the ceremonies, a reception will be held for all graduates, their family and friends. The location will be announced during the program. Other special ceremonies prior to commencement include adult education GED graduation at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 8, in the Hunt Center; associate degree nursing pinning ceremony at 4 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, in the Hunt Center; and vocational nursing pinning ceremony at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the Hunt Center. Medical records coding and surgical technology pinning ceremony will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 10, in room 1202 of the Walters Workforce Training Center. The Paris Junior College Texas Institute of Jewelry Technology, will hold graduation ceremonies at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 10, in the Ray Karrer Theater.
