Dragons baseball team now No. 8 in the nation
Published or Revised March 31, 2006
The Paris Junior College Dragons baseball team, undefeated so far in conference play this season, was ranked No. 8 in the nation in the latest NJCAA poll released Wednesday. "It's exciting," said Dragons Head Coach Deron Clark. "It's not a goal by any stretch. But it's neat for the kids, and I'm sure they're excited." The Dragons are 10-0 in conference play so far, having defeated Angelina College 6-4 and 6-5 on Thursday in Lufkin. The Dragons are 23-8 overall this season. The Dragons play Bossier Parish Community College in Shreveport, La., Saturday. The game was originally scheduled to be played in Paris, but a wet field forced the change. The April 26 game with Bossier Parish will be played in Paris. (Check the Dragons' spring schedule online for the latest changes.)
