Easements,  construction bids considered by Regents

Published or Revised August 03, 2010

A maximum guaranteed price for Phase II of the new residence hall was approved at a special meeting of the Paris Junior College Board of Regents Monday afternoon. "Charter Builders has just completed the first phase of the new residence hall on time and under budget," reported PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. The Board of Regents voted to accept the guaranteed maximum price of $3,242,932, with the project scheduled for completion next July. Dr. Anglin told the board that there would be an open house at the new South Campus Residence Hall on Aug. 18 at 4:30 p.m. Responding to a question about Phase II of the residence hall project, a spokesman for Charter Builders said there were 138 bids received with good local participation, and he estimated that 35-40 percent of the construction dollars would go to local subcontractors. In other business, the Regents:
  • Approved the 0.2649 acres for the easement and right-of-way requested by the City of Paris for the South Collegiate Drive reconstruction and straightening project at the appraised value.
  • Denied a request from Oncor for an easement of 0.0043 acres at the corner of Jefferson and Collegiate.
