Encore! In The Park set Saturday, Dec. 3

Encore!, Paris Junior College's award-winning show choir, will present Encore in the Park! Saturday evening, Dec. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in peristyle of Bywaters Park in downtown Paris. This has become a tradition for Encore! and the City of Paris, as the group officially opens "Winter Wonderland," an enchanting display of thousands of Christmas lights and vignettes. Encore will perform a 30-minute, high-energy song and dance production featuring some of their favorite Christmas selections done in a style that one might see at a Holiday in the Park Christmas Show at Six Flags Over Texas. Selections that the group will perform include "The Twelve Groovy Days of Christmas," "The Christmas Waltz," "North Pole Live," "Winter Wonderland," "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and "In December." There is no admission charge for this evening, which should prove to really set the mood for the rest of the holiday season. Encore! members encourage the public to bring their entire family, their lawn chairs, blankets and even a favorite hot chocolate drink - then sit back, sing along and enjoy the show. Members of Encore! include April Black, Slade Burgess, Lance Fletcher, Cari Fortenberry, Amanda Harrison, Chace Holt, Samantha House, Deanna Jackson, Jamaal Jones, Codie Kohler, Shawna Leigh, Cody McDowell, Michael Moore, Amanda Pearson, Chuey Potter, Glenn Pruitt, Cody Stephens, and Meshaya Wallace, all of Paris. Also James Green of Quinlan, Donovan Irby of Aubrey, Johnna Patterson of Cunningham and Dori Somerville of Detroit. Patricia Fowzer is the director of Encore! Members currently serving as choreographers for the group are Shawna Leigh and Amanda Pearson. Assistant choreographers for the semester have included Chace Holt, Meshaya Wallace, and Samantha House.
