Encore! will sponsor a workshop for children

In conjunction with the annual Encore! in the Park Christmas concert, members of Paris Junior College's award-winning show choir plan to host a children's Christmas song and dance workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 2. The fee for the workshop is $20. Children that are in kindergarten through fifth grade will be taught a Christmas song, authentic Broadway dance steps and a complete routine by the members of group. Each child will receive a commemorative certificate designed by Encore! member Haley Bulls, as well as a Christmas remembrance. The children who participate in the workshop will be invited to join Encore! that evening at 6:30 p.m. and assist the group with one number as they perform at Bywaters Park. The troupe hopes many of the area's children will be interested in becoming a singing and dancing star for just one night and enjoy performing with the group. This first-of-its-kind workshop is being offered as a fund-raising activity for the PJC Fine Arts Scholarship Fund.
