Five Dragons sign to play at the university level

Five members of the Paris Junior College Dragons men's national championship basketball team have signed letters of intent to continue their education and basketball careers at the university level. Guard Rod Earls, who was named the Most Valuable Player in the NJCAA national tournament, has signed with the University of Tulsa in Tulsa, Okla. Alexander Starr, a two-year starting guard for the Dragons, has signed with Centenary College of Louisiana in Shreveport. Starr earned the Sportsmanship Award at the national tournament and was named to the honorable mention team in the Region XIV Conference. Tyler Best, a 6-9 forward from Lafayette, La., has signed with Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne. Bobby Joshua, a 6-6 forward from Everman, has signed with Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. The fifth member of the Dragons to sign a letter of intent is forward Charles Stoker Jr. He will continue his college career at Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg.
