Philadelphia native Chikilra Goodman, a Bodine High School graduate, has signed to continue her playing career at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. Goodman is finishing her sophomore year at Paris Junior College in Paris, Texas, where she helped lead the Lady Dragons to a historic season in which they were ranked as high as 11th in the country by the National Junior College Athletic Association weekly poll. "Chikilra came to PJC to create more opportunities for herself, and she was able to do that because of the work she put in," said PCJ Women's Basketball Coach and Athletic Director Sean LeBeauf. "We wish her well on the next step of her journey. Stony Brook is getting a good player, and she's a tough kid." "Being here with Coach LeBeauf has made me a better player," Goodman said. "I got better at defense while here, and I'm very excited about going to Stony Brook." The PJC Lady Dragons finished their season ranked third in NJCAA Region XIV, which also contained the number one and number five ranked teams in the nation. Goodman earned Region XIV All Conference Honorable Mention a few weeks ago.
