Hannah, Ayers to play Dragons basketball

Two recent high school graduates from Holly Springs, Miss., have signed letters of intent to play basketball at Paris Junior College.
Coach Ross Hodge signed Clevin Hannah and Brandon Ayers, two all-state players who won two state championships for Holly Springs while playing together throughout their high school career.
"These two young men have a winning tradition and will bring great talent to our team," Hodge said. "We are glad to have them at PJC."
Hannah and Ayers helped Holly Springs win state titles in 2004 and 2005. They made it back to the state finals in 2006, but were upset in a slow-down game that ended in a score of 22-20. During three seasons, the team put together a 107-7 record.
Hannah, who averaged 19 points, nine assists and three steals per game, was named to the 2006 All-State team. He scored 37 points in the state semifinals against Ripley and led the Mississippi high school All-Stars to victory over Alabama's All-Stars.
Ayers, whose mother and father played for the University of Mississippi, averaged 15 points, five assists, eight rebounds and six steals per game, was first team All-District and honorable mention All-State last season.
He was named MVP of the 2005 Mississippi High School All-Star game where he was one point shy of breaking the individual scoring record with 31 points.
