Paris Junior College's Heating, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration Students Association (HARTS) recently elected officers for the 2012-2013 school year.
Elected were Brad Caviness of Paris, president; Jimmy Nabors of Antlers, Okla., vice president; Steven Newsom of Bagwell, secretary; and Shawn Woods of Paris, treasurer.
"Each year students participate in various activities designed to increase awareness and promote knowledge of the industry," said HARTS sponsor and Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology instructor Jenna Ormsbee. "They sponsor various activities and fundraisers to pay for annual field trips, such as attending the Air Conditioning Contractors of America Expo held in Fort Worth. Our students also learn the value of teamwork and community awareness by supporting local charities each year, and participating in campus-wide activities throughout the year."
This week students are preparing for Paris' Junior Homecoming festivities. In January they hope to visit the Air Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration (AHR) Expo in Dallas. The HARTS Association is open to any student wanting to learn about the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.
