Washington, D.C., native and Paris Junior College sophomore Phil Hawkins, No. 24, has been named the National Junior College Athletic Association's Region XIV Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 26 - March 3. "This is a big honor for a big time player," said PJC Head Basketball Coach Chuck Taylor. "He's been instrumental in the success we've had this year. I'm looking for great things from him in the conference tournament. It's a big accomplishment for him." Hawkins made 19 points, three assists, two rebounds, and was a perfect four for four from the free-throw line. He graduated from Eastern High School, where he played for Coach Rodney Wright.
