Paris Junior College sophomore G.R. Hinsley of Richmond, Texas, is shown at first base in a game against Panola earlier this spring. Hinsley has added NJCAA Third Team All-American to his impressive list of honors.
Honors are still coming to Paris Junior College baseball players. The National Junior College Athletic Association has just announced that G.R. Hinsley, a sophomore from Richmond, Texas, has been named Third Team All-American.
"G.R. has been an offensive catalyst for the Dragons the past two seasons," said PJC Baseball Coach Deron Clark. "The strongest example of how much influence G.R. had on our team was the fact that in over 350 at-bats in two seasons, he only struck out 21 times. His skills and leadership will be difficult to replace both on the field and in the classroom."
Hinsley has signed to continue playing for Texas A&M University in College Station. He was recently one of three Dragons named to the NJCAA All Region XIV Team and also was co-winner of PJC's McLemore Cup for top athlete in all sports, and co-winner of PJC's Barney Bray Cup for baseball MVP.
