Jessica Green to play Dragons volleyball

Jessica Green, who helped lead her Northwest Justin High School volleyball team to two consecutive playoff seasons, has signed a letter of intent to continue her volleyball career at Paris Junior College.
PJC Lady Dragon Coach Justin Maness said the two-year letterman from the 9-4A school district is an outstanding athlete who can add a lot to this first season for the PJC volleyball team.
"I am glad to have Jessica on our first volleyball team at PJC," Maness said. "She will bring some outstanding defensive abilities to our program as we launch our first season in August."
The Lady Dragons will play their first games in the Brookhaven College Tournament in Dallas that begins on Aug. 25. Their first game at home will be on Sept. 1 at 2 p.m. against Cedar Valley College.
Green, the daughter of Tom and Amy Green of Roanoke, was an All-District player last season. The Fort Worth Star Telegram ranked her as one of the area's top dig leaders, averaging four per game. She was second on her team in service aces with 44 in 44 games.
Green's Northwest High School Coach, Dayna Horak, said her strongest volleyball assets are her desire to win every point and her relentless defensive pursuit.
"Jessica's keen sense of the court and ability to read the hitter are skills that come natural to her," Horak said.
Green was also captain of her team last season.
