Published or Revised July 15, 2010

Two Paris Junior College students, one in nursing and one in agriculture, were on hand Monday for a presentation of scholarship donations on their behalf to the college from the Roan Oak Masonic Lodge #860 of Garrett's Bluff, Texas. Dalton C. McFatridge of Paris, a PJC freshman in the fall, received an agriculture scholarship for $500, and Lisa Taylor of Paris received the nursing scholarship for $850. She is already in the Associate Degree Nursing program at PJC. "We appreciate very much the donation of additional funds for the agriculture scholarship from Kathy Barber and family, of Two Rivers Plantation in Fouke, Ark., in memory of Bradford S. 'Buddy' Barber," said Roan Oak Masonic Lodge secretary James Parsons. Barber had been a member of the lodge. Of the remaining scholarship funds, the lodge's Worshipful Master Dale Briggle said, "This is money earned by the Lodge to give for the service and benefit of others. We held a fish fry and a pancake breakfast to raise the money." "We are thankful for these scholarships," said PJC President, Dr. Pam Anglin. "They make such a difference in the lives of our students."
