Mr. & Miss PJC Crowned Saturday

Halftime of the Paris Junior College men’s basketball game Saturday evening was the setting for the crowning of the 2014 Mr. & Miss PJC. Chosen were Montel Thomas of Paris and Taylor Bigony of Greenville.
At halftime of the Paris Junior College men’s basketball game against East Texas Flight Saturday evening, Montel Thomas and Taylor Bigony were crowned the 2014 Mr. & Miss PJC.
Bigony is a 2012 graduate of Greenville High School and the daughter of Elise and Scott Bigony of Greenville. She is a member of the Student Government Association, Phi Theta Kappa (the two-year college honor society), the Blend Club and the Eco Club. After PJC she plans to continue her education at a four-year university pursuing her degree in nursing. She would like to work in a small town hospital.
Thomas is a 2011 graduate of Paris High School and the nephew of Nadine Ausbie of Paris. He is a member of the Student Government Association, and serves as the sophomore representative in Paris. He volunteers for Habitat for Humanity and serves as vice president of the student Art League. After PJC, Montel plans to attend Stephen F. Austin University and pursue a degree in elementary education. He would like to become a middle school social studies teacher, then one day a principal.
To be nominated, candidates must be a full-time student, carry at least 12 semester hours and be a graduating sophomore. They are nominated by PJC faculty and staff and selected by a vote of the student body.
