Nursing admissions criteria modified by Regents
Published or Revised October 25, 2011
Changing the admission criteria to two nursing programs was the main order of business at the Paris Junior College Board of Regents meeting Monday night. The changes affect the licensed vocational nursing and associate degree nursing programs. The new admissions criteria are designed to give more weight to students living within the service area and those likely to do well academically. New scoring points will be given for the pre-admission HESI A2 test, being a certified nurse aide, and residing in the PJC service area. In addition to completing a certain number of non-nursing courses, points will be given for completing those courses in the first or second attempt. In other business, the Regents:- Swore in new regent Barney Bray.
