Nursing program to add session

The Paris Junior College nursing program has received approval to start an additional clinical session that will increase the number of students it can accept each year. Marcia Putnam, director of PJC Health Occupations, said the college administration has approved the start of an afternoon and evening clinical for students that will allow an additional 10 students to be enrolled in the program. Putnam said that this newly expanded enrollment, which begins with the class that starts this summer, will increase the enrollment to 70 students. "This will help meet the community's need for health occupation professionals," Putnam said. "The new clinical session in the afternoon and evening is designed to keep from overcrowding the clinical sites during the morning and early afternoon and to provide the same quality experience."
