DeDe Oxley, a teacher at the Paris Junior College – Greenville Center for seven years, will become interim director of the Center on Jan. 3, 2007. Oxley will replace Kerri O’Connor, who has resigned to accept a position at Texas A&M University-Commerce, according to PJC President Dr. Pamela Anglin. Oxley, an English instructor, has been teaching at the Center since June 1999. She said she is pleased to get an opportunity to serve as director of the Center. “Paris Junior College and the Greenville Center are important to Greenville and Hunt County, and I look forward to actively supporting the educational efforts being made by the college,” Oxley said. “The faculty and staff here (Center) is great, and I am proud to be a part of it.” Dr. Anglin said that with an interim director in place, the PJC administration would begin searching for a permanent director, which will probably be named in June 2007. Oxley attended the University of Texas in Austin and then completed her BA in English and Journalism at Texas A&M University-Commerce. She also earned her MA in English from A&M University-Commerce. Oxley and her husband Gary have two children. She is currently president of the Greenville Follies and a past board member of Women in Need and Keep Greenville Beautiful. She also does volunteer work with the Salvation Army and is active in Kavanaugh United Methodist Church.
