Published or Revised November 06, 2012

A special observance of Veteran's Day will be held Friday, Nov. 9, at 11 a.m. in the DeShong Chapel on the Paris Junior College campus. The carillon's bell will chime as the names of PJC students lost in combat during World War II, Korea and Vietnam are read aloud by PJC History Instructor Ken Hanushek. "This is an open ceremony and the public is invited to attend," says PJC History Instructor Allen Williams, organizer of the memorial. The PJC Chamber Singers will perform "America the Beautiful" and "There is a Time." Following the remembrance ceremony, PJC students who are military veterans will lay wreaths at the memorial. A PJC student will also be the bugler at the ceremony.
