Two Dragons baseball players at Paris Junior College have signed to continue playing in the fall with four-year universities. Blake Seaton, a graduate of West Mesquite High School, signed with Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth. Garrett Dodd, a graduate of McKinney High School, signed with Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La.
“Blake has been a solid and stable performer for our program for two seasons,” said PJC Athletic Director and Baseball Coach Deron Clark. “His consistency and dedication will be missed as he provided quality work both in the classroom and on the field. We wish him the best of luck at Texas Wesleyan University.”
“I loved coming to Paris and I’m glad I played for Coach Clark and Coach Steed,” said Seaton. “I’m looking forward to playing for Texas Wesleyan at the AirHogs’ field in Grand Prairie. I also liked their coach’s explanation of how their program works.”
Dodd is also looking forward to transferring.
“I feel great about Louisiana Tech University,” said Dodd. “It’s going to be good experience and a good program. The coaching staff I met is probably one of the best I’ve ever been around. I definitely don’t regret coming to PJC, I’m glad I made the choice I did. I had a great time here.”
“Replacing the offensive impact that Garret had on our lineup for two seasons will be next to impossible,” said Clark. “His ability to get clutch hits and make big plays is not always available for managers to rely on every season. We wish him the best of luck at Louisiana Tech University.”
