PJC basketball players ink agreements with universities

Paris Junior College basketball players Brandon Scott of Dallas, Texas and Bradley Christian of Cocoa, Florida have signed with four-year universities to continue their education and playing careers.
Scott has signed to play for the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
“I feel good about the campus and everyone I met,” said Scott. “I think the next two years are going to be good and I can’t wait. At PJC I learned that you have to find ways to get through hard times and not get down on yourself. Then when you do find success you have to handle it, that’s what I’ll take to Arkansas with me.”
“I’m very proud of Brandon,” said PJC Basketball Coach Chuck Taylor. “To see how he’s evolved into a great young man who will graduate in May. He had an opportunity to play at the Division I level but chose to stay closer to home and his family. I admire him for that. He had a great two years here and he was a big part of the championship we won last year. Arkansas-Monticello is getting a very good basketball player and person. He’s both. He’s one of my all-time favorite Dragons.”
Christian has signed to play with California State University - Bakersfield.
“I loved it when I visited. It is a great opportunity. I’m going from Florida all the way to the West Coast now. I’m very excited,” said Bradley. “At PJC the teachers are very supportive and Coach T is a great coach. If you want to learn what you have to do, come to Paris Junior College.”
“I’ve only had the opportunity to coach Brad one year but he’s been a great part of what we were able to do this year,” said Taylor. “He had a very solid sophomore season, culminating with him accepting a Division I scholarship. To see him achieve his goal is really good. His best basketball is ahead of him. He’s got a great spirit and our fans are going to miss the highlight dunks. He’s a terrific young man who’s done a phenomenal job for us and I’m looking forward to following him for the next two years in California.”
