PJC Chorale presents its Spring Concert Monday

The Paris Junior College Music Department continues its spring concert series with the PJC Chorale presenting "Red Carpet Night at the Movies" Monday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Methodist Church of Paris, 322 Lamar Ave. The Chorale will open the concert with Mozart's "Dies Irae" featured as the background in the movie "Amadeus." Other selections presented by the Chorale will include an Academy Award-winning songfest, "Cinemagic"; Henry Mancini's "Pink Panther"; a choral highlights medley from "Chicago"; Disney Movie Magic including songs from "Hercules," "Lion King," "101 Dalmatians," "Toy Story," and "Pocahontas." Selected voice students will perform solos and duets. Clarissa Christensen and Katelyn Bolyard will perform "Flower Duet" from "Lakme." Taylor Jackson will sing "Make Me Feel Your Love," from the movie "Hope Floats." Gloria Cooper will solo with "My Heart Will Go On" from "Titanic." The PJC Chamber Singers will be featured singing the beautiful "Anyway." Texas Two-Year College All-State Choir Members will present "City Called Heaven." The concert will end with the rousing medley, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" Mike Brock is the director. Linda Flanary is the accompanist. The public is invited to attend this concert. There is no admission charge.
