PJC drama students will present children’s play

Published or Revised February 18, 2009

Paris Junior College drama students will present a play that appeals to kids of all ages this weekend: "The King of Ice Cream Mountain." The story revolves around conflict between the wicked Zeno (who tries to get control of all the ice cream in the world) and Princess Happy who, along with a penguin named Muffles, try to save King Bumpygruff's kingdom. "The cast and crew have spent the entire rehearsal period laughing and having fun with this production," said PJC Drama Instructor and play director Alex Peevy. He also said there are two separate casts, and during the public performances casts will be mixed up. "Neither cast has spent any significant time rehearsing together," Peevy added. "We'll be watching what happens when actors must adapt to working with other actors they are not used to." The play will run on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 20-21, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22, at 2 p.m. in the Ray Karrer Theatre on the Paris campus. Tickets are $3 or free with a Paris Junior College ID.
