PJC golf team concludes fall tournament season

The Paris Junior College golf team recently finished the fall tournament season with a seventh place finish at the Dr. Pepper Classic hosted by McLennan Community College at Twin Rivers Golf Club in Waco. PJC finished in a very tight leaderboard with a 604. Zac Oliver led the team with a two-day total of 145, finishing tied for fourth. Logan Dent and Tyler Dunbar each shot 153. Oliver Stephens shot 162, Collin Thompson shot 157 and Jeremy Salas shot 156. McLennan won the tournament with 579. New Mexico Junior College and Hutchison Community College each shot 598, finishing tied for second. Western Texas College shot 609, Ranger College and McLennan’s second team both had a 602, Murray State College shot 616, McLennan’s third team finished with 629, Jacksonville College had 625, Clarendon College shot 629 and New Mexico Military Institute had a 656. “This was the end of the fall tournament season,” said PJC golf coach David Johnson. “The freshmen got a lot of play and experience and we’re looking forward to the spring. “Zac Oliver played really well and has finished in the top 5 in all four tournaments. He’s making a good run at All-American.”
