PJC hosts golf tournament on Monday

The Paris Junior College Fall Invitational, hosted by the Dragons golf team, is Monday, September 16 at the Paris Golf and Country Club. Tournament golfers will tee off beginning at 8 a.m. Monday and run all day. The PJC Tournament is a one-day, 36-hole collegiate event. The field will consist of nine men’s teams and five women’s teams. Individual medalists will also compete, in addition to the teams. “PJC will have eleven players in the tournament on two teams, plus one individual player,” said PJC golf coach David Johnson. “We are young this year with a number of freshman golfers. Playing here at home early gives us a good chance to let everyone compete with a little bit of comfort knowing our course.” Johnson noted that the out of town teams would arrive Sunday to play a practice round and spend the night at area hotels and motels. “Everyone is invited to come out and watch some exciting golf,” he said.
