PJC IT Checklist - Technology Resources for Students

Welcome to Paris Junior College IT

We are excited to welcome you to the Paris Junior College (PJC) community! Technology plays a critical role in your success at PJC, and our dedicated IT department is committed to providing all the tools and support you need to thrive. From helping you get connected to resolving any technical issues, we are here to assist you every step of the way.

If you're passionate about technology or considering a career in IT, the PJC Student Worker Program in the IT department is a fantastic opportunity to get started—no experience required. As a student worker, you’ll gain hands-on experience and contribute to tasks like:

  • Managing and responding to IT support tickets
  • Installing and maintaining security cameras
  • Running network cabling and troubleshooting connectivity
  • Performing server maintenance and updates
  • Monitoring cybersecurity and system alerts

This program offers a unique opportunity to develop practical skills, explore a career path in IT, and contribute meaningfully to campus operations. You’ll be at the forefront of ensuring PJC’s technology infrastructure runs smoothly, while also gaining experience that can set you up for future success.

DragonMail Account Setup

All Paris Junior College students are automatically assigned a DragonMail email account for official communications. You will need your Student ID to log in. If you don't know your Student ID, refer to the first step above to find it.

Email Format:
Username: First initial + last name + last 4 digits of your Student ID
Example: Barbara Jones with ID "123456" → Bjones3456@dragons.parisjc.edu

Password:
8 digits of your birthdate (MMDDYYYY)
Example: Born March 6, 1995 → 03061995

For 9-digit Student IDs:
Username: First initial + last name + first 4 digits of your Student ID
Example: Barbara Jones with ID "123456789" → Bjones1234@dragons.parisjc.edu

If you already have a Gmail account open, select "Sign in with a different account" and use your DragonMail credentials.

Microsoft Student Advantage Program

As a PJC student, you have free access to Microsoft Office products through the Microsoft Student Advantage Program. Download and install Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and more.

Download the Respondus LockDown Browser

The Respondus LockDown Browser is required for certain online exams. Be sure to download and install it if your class uses it for assessments.

Our Blackboard Login Information

Blackboard Username: Your school-issued student ID number, without dashes.
Example: If your ID number is 9870-04321, your Blackboard ID would be 987004321.

Blackboard Password: Your birthday (month, day, four-digit year, without marks).
Example: If your birthday is 02/04/1966, your Blackboard password would be 02041966.
