PJC Marks Employee Longevity, Retirements

Retiring PJC employees

On Aug. 12 Paris Junior College awarded service pins recognizing employee longevity, then held a retirement reception. Those receiving recognition at the retirement party include, from left: Jewelry Technology Division Chair Ulla Raus, Counseling Advisor Donna Glass, English Instructor and A.M. & Welma Aikin Regional Archivist Daisy Harvill, Associate Dean of Communications & Fine Arts Beth Shelton, Vice President of Business Services John Eastman and Vice President of Academic Studies Dwight Chaney.

During a college wide meeting for Paris Junior College faculty and staff on Aug. 12, employee longevity was celebrated with the awarding of service pins. Later in the day a reception was held to honor retiring employees. Ten-year employees are: Tutoring Coordinator Stacy Young; Computer Science Instructor Julie Eckhardt; Psychology Instructor Marla Elliott; Surgical Technology Instructor Norman Gilbert and Student Services Secretary Donna Mims. Employees receiving 15-year pins: campus police officers Eric Gibbs and Richard Adams; Heating, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technology Instructor Jenna Ormsbee; Adult Education and Literacy Secretary Janet Smith; Health Occupations Secretary Carla Jones; Accounts Payable Clerk Angela Rember; English Instructor Rhonda Armstrong; Mathematics Instructor Nicole Baucom and PJC-Greenville Center Director John Shasteen. Those receiving 20-year pins: Manufacturing Technologies Division Chair Charlie Hodgkiss; Educational Opportunity Center Advisor Sophia Noiel; Cosmetology Instructor Essie Moore and Computer and Network Coordinator Keith Coco. Receiving 25-year pins were Sharon Wood and Jewelry Technology Instructor Harrel Harrison; 30-year pins: History Instructor Lisa Johnson and Mathematics Instructor Lee Larue; and 35-year pins: Print Shop Coordinator Tim Shelton and Learning Skills Instructor Pam Hunt. Honored at the retirement reception were English Instructor and A.M. & Welma Aikin Regional Archivist Daisy Harvill, Jewelry Technology Division Chair Ulla Raus, Counseling Advisor Donna Glass, Associate Dean of Communications & Fine Arts Beth Shelton, Vice President of Business Services John Eastman and Vice President of Academic Studies Dwight Chaney. Chaney served at PJC 46 years, Shelton 41 years, Eastman 37 years, Harvill 30 years, Raus 27 years, and Glass 14 years.
