Three Paris Junior College baseball players participated in the Texas-New Mexico Junior College All-Star Baseball weekend at LaGrave Field in Ft. Worth this past weekend.
Sophomores Callaway Kirkpatrick, Brewer Money and Bradley McDonald competed for the Dragons in the event. On Friday both Kirkpatrick and Money pitched for the Region XIV East Team against Region V West. Kirkpatrick threw two innings giving up one hit, no runs, striking out one and walking one. He induced two double plays during his outing for positive results.
Money followed Kirkpatrick in the game and had one inning of work. Though the statistical numbers were not quite as impressive as Kirkpatrick's, Money shone on the radar gun as he held 88-90 during his outing and was very impressive with his split finger. The East team won in commanding fashion 9-3.
On Saturday afternoon McDonald got his turn behind the plate as the East squared off against the East team from Region V. He went one for four with an RBI and threw out an attempting base stealer in the fifth inning. McDonald was impressive behind the plate, blocking several tough breaking pitches and making multiple key stops with runners on base. The team won again in impressive fashion by a score of 10-0.
"Congratulations to our three guys for earning the honor and playing well when they had the chance," said PJC baseball coach Deron Clark.
