Omar Sherman signs to continue his playing and education career at Louisiana Tech University as PJC Men’s Basketball Coach Bobby Taylor looks on.
Paris Junior College sophomore Omar Sherman has signed to continue his playing and education career at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, La. A graduate of Duncanville High School in Duncanville, Texas, Sherman played his freshman year at the University of Miami before transferring to PJC.
“I know the coach [at Louisiana], he recruited me when I came out of high school; I’m familiar with them and I like them,” said Sherman. “I learned a lot here at PJC. I’ve grown up a lot in this past year. I feel like I can take the experiences I’ve had and the wisdom I’ve gained here to Louisiana Tech.”
“I’m extremely proud that he has put himself in position to get back to NCAA Division I,” said PJC Men’s Basketball Coach Bobby Taylor. “He had a really good season. Coming in as a new coach and inheriting a player of his caliber has been a blessing. He is a joy to coach, his best basketball is ahead of him and I think he has a very bright future.”
