Paris Junior sophomore Keith Shivers signs to continue playing basketball next year at Coppin State University with PJC basketball coach Chuck Taylor and his Dragons basketball team looking on.
Paris Junior College basketball team member Keith Shivers has signed to continue his playing and education career at Coppin State University in Baltimore, Md. The sophomore from Glenn Dale, Md., a graduate of Dr. Henry Wise High School, was a member of last year's Region XIV Championship team.
“Keith has an opportunity to go home and play Division I basketball in front of his family,” said PJC basketball coach Chuck Taylor. “So this is very exciting for him and I could not be happier or prouder. He is an exceptional young man whose parents have done a very good job with him. He’s a really good basketball player with a great two-year run here and he will graduate in May. That’s a finer accomplishment for me than anything else. I’m really proud of how he represented himself, his family and our institution both on and off the court. He is the true meaning of a PJC student-athlete.”
“I’m excited for this next chapter of my life,” said Shivers. “I’m ready to go there and hopefully get a championship, and also graduate with my four-year degree. That’s the most important part. I’m going to miss PJC; I wish it was a four-year school. It has been a great experience.”
