PJC softball team members earn honors

Recently honored PJC softball players include, from left, Suzy Sosa, Payton Walker, Emily Wolfe, Zabannah Sanchez, and Alex Scheel.
Though the Lady Dragons softball team ended the season just short of a berth to the national NJCAA tournament, several of the Paris Junior College players earned honors.
At the end of the tournament, three softball team members were named to the All-Tournament Team. Payton Walker of Liberty Hill was named All-Tournament Catcher; Alex Scheel of Helotes, All-Tournament Outfielder; and Suzanna Sosa of Houston, All-Tournament Designated Player.
Sosa was also recently named All-Region XIV and First Team All-Conference Designated Player; Scheel was named Second Team All-Conference Outfielder. Also earning All-Conference honors were Emily Wolfe of Houston, First Team All-Conference Infielder, and Zabannah Sanchez of McAllen, Second Team All-Conference Pitcher.
