Published or Revised September 14, 2005
Paris Junior College is joining other colleges and universities in Texas in extending enrollment opportunities to college students who have been displaced by Hurricane Katrina. Students from the Gulf Coast states affected by the hurricane can continue their studies in Texas with tuition and placement testing relief. Paris Junior College President Dr. Pamela Anglin said that under the authority of a proclamation issued by Gov. Rick Perry, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board has authorized PJC and other Texas institutions to classify students from the hurricane-ravaged states as Texas residents for tuition purpose. In addition to paying state (resident) tuition, displaced students will not be required to take placement tests. Counseling and admission services are available at the PJC campuses located in Paris, Sulphur Springs and Greenville. Those campus addresses and telephone numbers are: » Paris campus: 903-782-0425 - 2400 Clarksville St., Paris, TX 75460. » Sulphur Springs Center: 903-885-1232 - 1202 W.
