Radiology program accepts applications in Sept.

Paris Junior College will be accepting applications into its Radiology Technology Program during September, according to Health Occupations Director Marcia Putnam. Putnam said that following the receipt of applications, scoring and interviews will be conducted in October, and acceptance letters will be sent out to prospective students in November. The class will begin in January 2007. This will be the third class of students to begin the program since it was started at PJC nearly two years ago, according to interim coordinator Karen Powers. The first class, she said, will graduate in December of this year. "Many of these students finishing in December are already working in the health occupations field, and others already have jobs pending," she said. "There is a definite need for trained technicians." The PJC Radiology Technology Program is a two-year program leading to an Associate of Applied Science degree. It prepares students to work effectively in the field of diagnostic medical radiography. Applications for the program can be obtained at the Health Occupations Department office in the Bobby Walters Technology Building.
