Three retiring PJC employees recognized

Three members of the Paris Junior College faculty and staff were recognized for their service at a reception Tuesday.
PJC vocational nursing instructor Kay Miller worked ten years at PJC.
“She made a difference in a lot of current nurses’ lives,” said PJC President Dr. Pam Anglin, when presenting her plaque.
“Thank you so much. I can’t - I’m never speechless if you know me,” Miller said as she waived off comment to much laughter and applause from the crowd.
Vice President of Academic Studies Ed McCraw served a combined total of 18 years, 1978-86 and then 2006 to the present.
“It’s been a real enjoyable experience working at Paris Junior College,” said McCraw. “It’s a good place to work and a good bunch of people to work with so I want to thank you all for making my tenure here so enjoyable.”
Dr. Anglin then introduced Director of Counseling, Barbara Thomas.
"I've actually been at this college since 1971," said Thomas, "and my husband came in 1967. I moved in to a little house here in 1971 and supervised all these dorms when we had a lively student center that was rocking every night until 11:00 p.m. and we ate every meal in the cafeteria. I got on the PJC payroll in 1973 part-time, working with international students. So I've been here 41 years and have to say 'where has the time gone?' I have mixed feelings, of course, but I've had a great time, thank you so much."
