SBDC offers selection of seminars in August

The Small Business Development Center at Paris Junior College will offer a selection of seminars during August. All of the sessions will be held at Paris Junior College — Sulphur Springs Center. A free three-part video presentation, "Management Skills for Assistants and Support Staff," will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Aug. 8. Topics will include how to open lines of communication at the office; how to identify and set priorities; effective negotiation skills; time management skills; decision-making and problem-solving skills; and how to project a confident, assertive image. "How to Start Your Own Business" will meet from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Aug. 8. Participants will learn what it takes to start and operate a small business. "Recruit and Hire Good Employees" will explain the services offered by Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas. The session will run from 10 a.m. to noon on Aug. 8. Presenters from Workforce Solutions Northeast Texas and Hiring Partners will offer assistance to employers with recruitment, retention, training and/or retraining, and outplacement services. The "Exceptional Customer Service" seminar will be presented from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Aug. 19. This free video presentation will help participants build better customer service stars and teams within their business.
