James A. Struwe joins SBDC as new counselor

The Small Business Development Center at Paris Junior College is pleased to announce that James A. Struwe is the new counselor. Struwe received his B.B.A. in accounting from Stephen F. Austin University. He also completed the AEA Executive Institute at Stanford University. Struwe will offer professional counseling to persons wanting to start or expand a small business. "One of the aspects of the job that appeals to me most is being able to help people," said Struwe. "My many years in business have exposed me to a great deal of knowledge which I can now share to assist people in their business endeavors." Struwe's former experience includes vice-president of finance and controller of Scientific Communications Inc. of Garland, a contractor providing surveillance equipment to the U.S. government and foreign governments; accounting and administrative manager for Silicon Materials Service of Garland, a unit of Air Products and Chemicals; and executive vice president and CEO of International Silicon Solutions Inc. of Dallas, both which reclaimed silicon wafers for the semiconductor industry. SBDC Director Pat Bell said of Struwe, "Jim's experience makes him uniquely qualified to help people wishing to start a new business as well as those in business wanting to grow and expand." Strewe's expertise includes taxation, both state and federal, accounting and record keeping, business plans, financial statements, and legal forms of ownership.
