Surgical Tech student named to AST honor group

The Paris Junior College's Surgical Technology program experienced a first during its pinning ceremony Thursday, May 10, when Amy Denison of Sulphur Springs, Texas, became the first PJC student to gain entry into the Association of Surgical Technologists National Honor Society. Aside from the 4.0 grade average and 100 percent attendance maintained throughout the course of the program, Amy distinguished herself through academic and clinical achievements exceeding the standards expected of top students. Demonstrating a keen interest in knowing, achieving, and maintaining the highest standards of the profession, Amy met all the requirements deemed exemplary of the AST National Honor Society and was inducted April 23 as a lifetime member.
