The Paris Junior College Drama Department will bring to the stage Larry Shue's hilarious farce, "The Foreigner," in four nighttime performances and a matinee performance. PJC's newest instructor and director, Alex Peevy, will make his Paris directing debut with this production in the Karrer Theater for the Performing Arts. Performances will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 17, 18, 24 and 25. A matinee show will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. This comedy features a lovable but socially inept Brit as he tries to escape his stressful life by booking a holiday in backwoods USA. Now, what does a shy Englishman in search of rest do when he visits a fishing lodge in Georgia? The character, Charlie Baker, desperately tries to avoid the locals by posing as a foreigner who doesn't understand a word of English. But his plan backfires when he becomes the perfect person with whom everyone shares his or her deepest secrets and schemes. The Foreigner is winner of two Obie Awards and two Outer Critics Circle Awards as Best New American Play and Best Off-Broadway Production. The cast will include Stephanie Steinkoenig as Betty Meeks, Jacqueline Hayes as Catherine Simms, Ray Sparks as Froggy LeSueur, Matt Hamm as Ellard Simms, Joshua Maxwell as David, Josh Baker as Charlie Baker, and Zac Ressler as Owen Musser.
