Three PJC baseball players lauded for academic achievement

Three Paris Junior College baseball players were recognized for their work in the classroom after the National Junior College Athletic Association released its Academic Student-Athlete Awards recipients. Bailey Burks, Cameron Copeland and Christopher Muller were recently recognized by the NJCAA for academic achievement while playing baseball at Paris Junior College.
Burks earned the Superior Academic Achievement Award, recognizing a GPA of 3.8-3.99. Copeland and Muller earned the Exemplary Academic Achievement Award, recognizing a GPA of 3.6-3.79.
Of the 57, 472 student-athletes that participated in the NJCAA last year, a record number of 7.98 percent earned national academic honors, over double the previous mark of 3.31 last year. Of the student-athletes honored, a record 663 were presented with the Pinnacle Award for Academic Excellence, 1,610 individuals earned Superior recognition, and another 2,314 received Exemplary recognition.
