UTA nursing officials to visit

Persons interested in earning a bachelor's degree in nursing will have an opportunity to explore the opportunity with college officials on March 31. Representatives from the University of Texas at Arlington School of Nursing will be at Paris Junior College and at the Paris Regional Medical Center to review transcripts and discuss the program with candidates. The UTA Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) program is offered as a two-semester distance education program at the Paris Junior College campus. Pat Cochran, coordinator of the UTA/PJC program said that over 100 Paris area nurses have obtained their BSN through this program since it was established at PJC. "This is a great opportunity for nurses to earn their BSN," Cochran said. "There is no out-of-town travel involved, students attend class one day a week, and full-time faculty is on site." Representatives from the university will be at the Walters Applied Technology Building from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and at the Paris Regional Medical Center South Campus cafeteria from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Cochran said that candidates could stop by at any time during those hours on March 31 and visit, or to just drop off a transcript for review.
